The World's largest gathering of airline enthusiasts will meet in the greater New York City area, between August 12, 13, 14, 2010 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) at the newly remodeled Robert Treat Hotel in downtown Newark, New Jersey. You don't need to be a member of WAHS or any particular organization to participate in Airliners International 2010 or attend the trade show - you only need to have an interest in commercial aviation!

EASTERN AIRLINES DC-7B HISTORIC AIRLINER TO FLY PASSENGERS AT TETERBORO AIRPORT IN AUGUST
Three sightseeing flights on board the Historical Flight Foundation's completely restored 1958-era Eastern Air Lines Douglas DC-7B have been scheduled for August 12, 13 and 14, 2010 from Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, NJ. The flights will last for approximately 60 minutes with seats priced at $300 each. Money raised from this event will benefit the Historical Flight Foundation and the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum of New Jersey.

Airliners International 34th Annual Convention will be held at the newly remodeled Robert Treat Hotel in downtown Newark, New Jersey. The show is just a 5 minute walk to Newarkís Penn Station and PATH which allows easy access to Manhattan and all other New York area destinations. It is about a 1 hour direct train ride from Philadelphia with additional service to the Northeast Corridor south to Baltimore and Washington D.C and north to Providence, Boston and Hartford and other points throughout the northeastern United States. It is only one hour by air from Toronto and Montreal as well. Three major airports serve the area LGA domestic, JFK domestic/ international and EWR domestic/ international. JFK has the most international flights of any destination in the United States and EWR has a wide variety of flights from Europe, Asia and South America. Tri State residents may reach the hotel by car with adjacent parking and by Long Island or Metro North and subway through New York Penn Station.
New York City is one of the 10 top tourist destinations in the world. Almost every foreign language is spoken here. Top tourist attractions include the Statue of Liberty, the UN, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Times Square, and Lincoln Center along with a host of museums and exhibits including the newly refurbished Intrepid Air and Space Museum. The city boasts the best entertainment in the world for both young and old, starting with the glitter of the finest Broadway has to offer and a major assortment of Disney presentations. The Robert Treat Hotel and Newark Hilton Hotel will be offering special summer room rates for the convention. Both have excellent dining and state of the art accommodations. Both are located within a short walking distance to public transportation and offer free transportation from EWR. They are located near the cityís new cultural New Jersey Center for the Performing Arts as well as the new minor league baseball complex. The Ironbound district is also adjacent to the hotel with fine and casual dining. Ironbound is the center of Spanish and Portuguese influence in the area.
The convention will be a two day three session event- Friday August 13 and Saturday August 14. A 3 hour trade session for Registered and Pre Registered attendees will be held on Friday, followed by a 9 hour general public session. Saturday there will be an 8 hour session again open to the general public. Accompanying the event will be the enthusiast contests including models, postcard and photographs. We are hosting 2 social events, the annual banquet on Saturday night and a roof top garden barbeque on the opening Thursday night. This roof top site offers an awesome view of the Manhattan skyline and view of Runway 22 approach to EWR. This event is limited to the first 150 registrants. The show is being produced by Airline Collectible Shows of New Jersey. This partnership has also produced the annual Newark Airline Expo.
